The Bilingual Health Education Institute
offers a variety of educational programs including information
on advocacy and access to treatment issues:
- Cuidate
is a series educational treatment workshops and Apoyo individualized
adherence counseling.
- BTEP
is an intensive four days treatment education training program.
- Nueva Ola offers
a series of community forums and
- Caliente a newsletter
addressing the development of new emerging HIV/AIDS treatment.
These programs are geared to health
care providers, people living with HIV/AIDS and hepatitis
C and to the community at large.
In addition, the Institute has been funded to serve as a Regional
Training Center [RTC] for HIV/AIDS Education, offering
a wide variety of courses.
Based on Paolo Freire educational methodology
and the concepts of Popular Education in Latin America, these
interactive and dynamic programs provide the necessary tools
to analyze, explore and act in the improvement of the health
care for the Latino Community.
