Voz de Compromiso
Dennis de Leon, Founder of the Latino Commission on AIDS.
The Voz de Compromiso Award honors the selflessness and commitment of persons living with HIV/AIDS who through example have dedicated themselves to enlighten the public about HIV/AIDS and support others who are infected or living with the disease. This year the award will be presented posthumously to Dennis de Leon, Founder and former President of the Latino Commission on AIDS, who passed away in December. The award will officially be renamed the Dennis de Leon Voz de Compromiso Award.
Past recipients have included Aracelis Quiñones, Joe Capestany, Petra Berrios, Tony Hernandez, Hilda Melore, Delia Rodriguez, Michelle Lopez, Vivian Torres, Enrique Andino, Jairo Pedraza, Marina Alvarez, Juan Mendez and Pedro Zamora. |

Ilka Award
Kenny Ortega, American Producer, Director and Photographer.
The Ilka Award, named in honor of Ilka Tanya Payan, a Dominican actress and AIDS activist, honors outspoken and supportive celebrities who give their voice and time to HIV/AIDS causes.
Past recipients have included actors, Ricardo Chavira, Roselyn Sanchez, Sofia Vergara, Lauren Velez, Edward James Olmos, Rosie Perez and Gael Garcia Bernal; singers, Jenni Rivera, Ednita Nazario, India and Kat deLuna; champion boxer, Tito Trinidad; and talk show host, Cristina Saralegui. |

Compañero Award
Lilian Rodriguez-Lopez, Hispanic Federation.
The Compañera Award was created by the Commission to recognize important partners of the Latino Community, who, through their efforts, have contributed to improving the quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS and to the fight against the disease in the Latino community. Past recipients have included Randi Weingarten, United Federation of Teachers, Dr. Howard Grossman, Ortho Biotech, Susan Berresford, president of the Ford Foundation, and Sean Strub, publisher of POZ Magazine. |
