Mujeres y Salud is a social network demonstration project funded by the CDC (Center for Disease control) at the Latino Commission on AIDS. The Social Network Model, Mujeres y Salud, identifies HIV positive Latina women and invites them to participate and become recruiters, in the effort to identify, encourage and bring others in their social network at high risk for HIV infection to come and test for HIV. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DISCLOSE YOUR STATUS. The Social Network consists of family, friends, neighbors who are at high risk of HIV and have not tested or have tested negative in the past. These are the network associates of the recruiters. Am I eligible to become a recruiter? Yes, if you are a Latina woman living with HIV/AIDS, and are interested in joining us in the effort to bring awareness to our high-at –risk community and want to encourage HIV testing. What do I need to do? You need to contact the staff of the Mujeres y Salud program for a screening/interview appointment. Mujeres y Salud es un proyecto demostrativo de la red social fundada por la CDC (Centro de Prevención y Control de Enfermedades) de la Comisión Latina Sobre el SIDA. El modelo de la red social, Mujeres y Salud, identifica mujeres Latinas positivas y las invita a participar en ser reclutadoras, en el esfuerzo de identificar, motivar y de traer a mujeres que están al alto riesgo, y son de su red social, a venir y hacerse al prueba del VIH. USTED NO TIENE QUE COMPARTIR SU PROPIO ESTADO. Esta red social consiste de familia, amigas y vecinas que están al alto riesgo de contraer el VIH y no se han hecho la prueba o han sido probadas negativas en el pasado. Ellas son las Asociadas de la red social de las reclutadoras. ¿Soy elegible para ser reclutadora? Claro, si eres una mujer Latina viviendo con VIH/SIDA y estas interesada en ser parte de los esfuerzos en traer el mensaje de educación para nuestra comunidad de alto riesgo, y promover que se hagan la prueba del VIH, entonces eres elegible. ¿Qué debo hacer? Necesitas llamar el equipode Mujeres y Salud para hacer una cita de entrevista y evaluacion.
