Para Ayudar
Program Description
The Para Ayudar programs offers free individual and group sessions for Latino men who have sex with men and transgender Latinas in Spanish. It's not necessary to identify as gay, to be documented, or to be HIV positive to be eligible. In fact, you don’t even need to show any documentation or health insurance.
The goals of Para Ayudar are:
To assist individuals dealing with underlying factors such as immigration status, assimiliation, housing and health care access.
To provide risk reduction services on substance use and sexual health.
To identify and refer to culturally and linguistically appropriate service providers.
To continue to provide a confidential, culturally sensitive, and non-judgmental space where men and transgender Latino immigrants may find support in their native language, Spanish.

These individuals have received intensive training in substance use, health education, and outreach. So if one evening you come across one of them in one of our outreach venues in Queens or Manhattan, feel free to ask any questions.
