The Value of Program Evaluation in Times of Fiscal Crisis
This two-part training will provide participants
with an overview of the importance of program
evaluation in times of fiscal crisis. Many organizations
have experienced substantial funding
cuts from public and private funding sources
and program evaluation is one key strategy
to demonstrate to funders that your agency
has the capacity to provide effective services.
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS
SESSION 1: THE VALUE OF PROGRAM EVALUATION IN TIMES OF FISCAL CRISIS: The first day of this two part series, expert research and evaluation professionals will teach participants how to:
- Overview of process evaluation
- Overview of outcomes evaluation
- How to utilize process and outcomes data in effective program planning and contract management.
- Overview of evaluation plan components including: using logic models to develop an evaluation plan, developing evaluation goals and objectives.
SESSION 2: THE VALUE OF PROGRAM EVALUATION IN TIMES OF FISCAL CRISIS: The second day of this two part series, expert research and evaluation professionals will teach participants how to:
- How to conduct an evaluation organizational assessment to assess available resources
- How to develop an evaluation plan: draft evaluation questions, identify indicators, identify appropriate methodology and develop planning instruments.
- How to develop a quality assurance plan
- How to report data to funders
- How to utilize current program data in future funding proposals
