RED's MISSION and VISION

Red Mission Statement

The mission of the Latino Commission on AIDS' Research and Evaluation Department (RED) is to improve and protect the health of Latinos through the development, evaluation and research of strategies that will reduce health disparities in Latino communities.

The department's research aims to:

• Contribute through the development of innovative social, behavioral and community based participatory research that seeks to reduce health disparities in Latino communities • Contribute to intervention research in identifying, adapting and fostering the growth of culturally competent programs for Latinos • Inform social and health policies that impact the health and well-being of Latinos • Increase access to and comprehension of HIV prevention information in Latino communities • Increase awareness of HIV related risks in Latino communities

Red Vision Statement To be a world-class department through excellence in research, education and service devoted to improving the implementation of HIV prevention programs and enhancing research on Latinos and health disparities, including HIV.
